As a teenager, I started taking pictures with a Nikon film camera, and slowly began to learn the art of photography - shooting whatever caught my eye. When digital technology improved, I got some better equipment and really started to improve upon the images I was capturing. Through the years my interest has grown into a passion, and my travels and experiences have afforded me many wonderful opportunities to photograph incredible people and places.

I have always enjoyed taking photographs, mostly because I love the idea of capturing a moment in time. And not only can you keep a moment forever, but you also have an opportunity to share a unique, and often unseen, perspective with others. In a world that is so fast paced, being behind the lens has forced me to slow down and pay attention to all of the things I might have otherwise missed had I not been conscious and present.

Capturing the essence of people – the look in a loved one’s eye, or the tilt of one’s head mid-laugh – requires me to be in the moment and nowhere else. Photographing a mountain ridge, a beach at sunset, or even a busy city street requires the kind of focus that drowns out the noise of life and helps me to see the unique beauty of what is right in front of me. And though that beauty can take many forms, it is always there. I just have to be open to it and present to find it. And I am grateful to be able to share this beauty with you.
